Tyneside Community Digital Community Interest Company is a not-for-profit organisation, set up to support local community radio in the delivery of their social gain objectives.
Small-scale DAB is an innovative technology which provides a low-cost way for local commercial, community and specialist music services to take to the digital airwaves. Working closely with local community radio stations, Nova Radio, Pride Radio, Spice FM and Radio Tyneside, Tyneside Community Digital was awarded the licence by Ofcom to operate the Newcastle and Gateshead small-scale DAB (SSDAB) multiplex. We launched our service in August 2022, bringing around 20 new DAB radio stations to Tyneside, increasing listener choice and enabling local participation in this exciting and growing medium.
